Today’s  H2S2’s “Shining Star” is Samaria Jones Tinsley. Samaria is an eleventh grade (Junior) and comes to us representing the Mustangs of Evergreen Park High School. She is also known as “Team-24” a nickname given to her by one of her coaches and a name she plans turn into a brand name and make well known one day.

Samaria, represents the Mustangs in several sports such as basketball, track & field, volleyball and currently she competes on her schools swim team.

When samaria is not involved in sports she is a student leader at Evergreen Park High School and is also involved in providing community service through an organization known as the “Rhoer group” a community service organization formed by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated.

Samaria has a number of interests.  Her main interest are in math which is her favorite subject in school and basketball which is her favorite sport.  Samaria’s favorite player happens to be a nearby native of Naperville Central High School and current WNBA Los Angeles Sparks player, Candice Parker.

Samaria has plans possibly to follow in her WNBA idol’s footsteps by playing college basketball at the University of Tennessee where Candace Parker attended or play at the University of Kansas or  maybe even the University of Missouri. We wish Samaria the very best whatever school she chooses to attends.

The High School Holla Sports Show congratulates Samaria Jones Tinsley for being the very first of many “Shining Stars”.
